Dear New Full Member Family,
Welcome to Tower Christian School. We hope this will be a good and growing year for your family. Here are some forms that need to be filled out. Most of the forms need to filled out and turned in at your personal registration appointment along with tuition. Before I give you information about the forms here are some important dates for you to be aware of:
Park Night - Thursday, August 28, 2008.
Your entire family is invited to attend as new members. We meet at Bicentennial Park on Clovis and Sunnyside Ave. north of Sierra at 6:30 pm. Come to all or part of it, whatever fits your schedule. Be sure to bring lawn chairs or blankets and water or beverage. It will be a casual time of fellowship, getting to know each other and free play. So bring any recreational equipment you like to use and enjoy the evening.
First Teachers Meeting - Friday, September 5, 2008. Usually moms only come to these (but we love to have dads there too) at Valley Christian Center. If you are part of the afternoon meeting, your time will be from 2:30 - 4:15. If you are a part of the evening meeting your time will be from 6:45 - 8:15 pm in the all-purpose room. Valley Christian Center is located on the north side of Shields Avenue between Maple and Chestnut.
Registration Meeting - By personal appointment
The filled out forms (downloaded from TCS web site) and tuition of $230 must be turned in at your personal registration appointment. Both parents should come to this meeting without children. The appointment will take 50 - 60 minutes. The appointment will be held at Valley Christian Center. (near 168 and Shields) Call Ann Raber, registrar, at 298-2772 to schedule an appointment. Appointments can be scheduled during the following times:
Tuesday, August 12th, 9:30AM - 2:00PM, or Thursday, August 14th, 3PM - 9 PM.
Forms: The following forms need to be completely filled out and turned in at your personal registration appointment. The forms may be downloaded from the TCS Web site at www.towerchristian.com. A common question is, "Do I have to fill out all of the forms?" The answer is, "YES."
Medical Information and Release
Please fill out this form and include all minor children who live with you all or part time, even if they are not enrolled in TCS. This information is needed because sometimes siblings attend TCS events. Use a black ink pen on this form because they are photocopied to take on field trips.
Background File
All private schools are required by the State to have one of these on file for each teacher. Fill it out to the best of your ability. List any kind of teaching experience such as teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, a craft class, private lessons, or teaching your own preschool children how to walk, talk, dress themselves etc. Please fill out one for each parent.
Course of Study
These are also a state requirement for all Private Schools. Please fill out a separate one for each student. These forms do not have to be very detailed, just a basic outline of education direction.
Transcript Request Form
These forms are to be used to request the transfer of student records from previous schools. Please fill them out with the school’s name and address as well as your student’s name(s).
Statement of Faith Form
Both parents/guardians should sign this (except in the case of single parent/guardian). Sign the appropriate response that represents your view point.
Code of Conduct
Make sure you take the time to go over these codes with your TCS students and if they are able to write, please have them sign the form.
Youth Group concent Form
This is for all students in 7th through 12th grades regardless of their involvement level in the Youth Group.
Immunization Forms
The Health Department requires these to be on file for Kindergarten students. You may fill in all the information on the front side, AND INCLUDE A COPY OF YOUR STUDENTS YELLOW IMMUNIZATION RECORD...OR you may sign the waiver on the back side. *We can make copies at the registration appointment.
Health Examination form
The Health Department requires these to be on file for all first grade students. You may get an exam and have the doctor fill the form out OR you may sign the waiver form.
Please Note*
A health exam for first grade students qualifies even if it is performed as much as 18 months before first grade entry, so... it is most convenient to take care of both these forms upon kindergarten enrollment.
Liability Agreement
This agreement is important for the legal security of the school. Please read and sign.
Roster Information
We would like to hand out an accurate school roster at the first teachers meeting. Please fill out this form completely, including all your children still living with you and the best time for you to receive phone calls.
God’s World Newspapers
Many families in our school subscribe to God’s World so we get a much better rate as a group order. The best time to place your order is at your registration appointment.
HSLDA Application
All TCS families are required to join unless they only have enrolled students younger than 6 or older than 18. TCS has qualified for the group rate of $95. When you arrive at the questions regarding private school enrollment and “group program”, you need to put down that you are enrolled in a private school - Tower Christian School, Clovis CA. and our Group number is: 291070.
Live Scan Fingerprinting for Background Checks.
TCS has lots of wonderful parents who design and provide group classes and activities. They do lots of volunteer activities based in their homes and because of this many parents are supervising other people's children. For this reason we require fingerprint background checks on every parent. The paperwork to proceed with this will be mailed to you. It cannot be downloaded. (forms are in triplicate)

*Full tuition must be paid at the time of your registration appointment. A series of two or three post dated checks with the last check being dated no later then Oct. 1st will be accepted as a payment plan. A fee of $25 is added if additional time is needed to complete your paperwork.
