VII. Tuition, HSLDA membership, and meeting attendance.
a. Teachers' meetings are considered mandatory. They usually occur on the first or second Friday of the
month and lasts about two hours. There is an afternoon group and an evening group. Please note that teachers'
meetings are adults only, no child care is available, nursing babies may accompany their mom. Do you see any areas
of conflict that will make it hard for one parent (usually mom) to come to the meetings such as lack of transportation,
lack of child care because some one works late, church events etc?_______ If yes, please explain.

b. Base tuition of $250 for 2010 - 2011 and HSLDA membership of $95 per family per year, and finger
printing/background check for each parent (approx. $50 per parent) are the responsibility of each member

VIII. Enrollment Policy
     a. TCS is open for enrollment between June 1, 2010 - August 15, 2010 for full members, with a 100 member limit.
     b. In general, we will only accept families who live within a 20 mile radius of Shields/Blackstone.
     c. Regular tuition is $250 per family and must be paid in total at a personal registration appointment. If a payment plan is needed
please talk to the treasurer prior to your appointment. A fee of $25 will be added if registration forms are not completed and turned in at the registration appointment.
     d. HSLDA (Home School Legal Defense Association) membership is required, the cost is $95 per family. If you are accepted into the
school, you may go to the HSLDA web site (www.HSLDA.org) to download the form. You must have a photo copy of your acceptance letter or duplicate member card in the school file by the November teacher's meeting. Families who only have students under the age of 6 or over the age of 18 DO NOT need HSLDA coverage.

After you have mailed in your application, allow about 3-4 weeks for a response. Several staff members must review the application before admittance is confirmed and this takes time. Once you are admitted as a member of TCS you may download a packet of important school forms and information that will help you get started. Questions? We are delighted that TCS has been a safe and happy association for children and adults. Many families in TCS do some “co-op” teaching activities which have been good and safe events so far. The Board of TCS wants to keep TCS safe in regards to two grievous realities in our culture, child abuse and false accusations of child abuse. Our first line of defense is prayer to Jesus, recognizing our need for His wisdom, discernment and protection. Additionally the Board sees a need for 1) a confidential questionnaire and 2) fingerprinting for background checks.

If some of these questions bring up issues that are real in your life that does not mean you will be denied enrollment automatically but it may mean that further discussion is warranted. The questionnaire and background check reports will not be kept in your general school file but in a special restricted access, confidential file box. Thank you for your cooperation in this regard.

Fingerprints for back ground checks will be your responsibility to acquire and pay for. The necessary information and documents will be mailed to you prior to your registration appointment. The Boards’ intent for this practice is to use it as one practical barricade for keeping out deliberate predators in the slight but grievous possibility that one may see trusting home schooling families as a target.
