Introduction
We are a group of parents choosing to educate our children at home. We have joined together under one private school affidavit in accordance with California State Law as Tower Christian School. We have legal nonprofit tax exempt status with the State of California and the Federal Government (IRS). The school is governed by a board of directors as outlined in our bylaws. (Available upon request) |
| We are united in our belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We are evangelical in nature and welcome believers from different denominations, with the understanding that the leadership team and school policies will stem from a Biblical/Evangelical faith. Tower Christian School is not an accredited diploma granting school. |

Services We Provide
I. Record Keeping
The registrar will receive, file and store the necessary school records which will include: |
| 1. Health Forms | 2. Attendance records | 3. Family's curriculum outlines |
| 4. Teacher educational background and experience |
5. Evaluation forms (optional) |
6. Test scores (optional) |
| It is the responsibility of each family to provide the registrar with the completed forms on time. | ||
| II. Monthly Meetings       We believe our school will only truly be a source of strong support for us if we are "in relationship" with Jesus and each other. Therefore, we have one mandatory meeting each month (excluding July and December) to give time for those relationships to develop and be strengthened. During those meetings we cover school business as well as teacher training/encouragement from a biblical view point and prayer. These things are important for building support relationships.       If you share these goals and are able to consistently give a portion of your time and energy to being a part of Tower Christian School in this way then we invite you to apply. |
| III. Newsletter Our newsletter, The Tower Trumpet, will be distributed at the mandatory meeting each month. If you have to miss a mandatory meeting, it is your responsibility to make arrangements for a friend to get your newsletter, take notes for you on verbal announcements and mail/deliever your newsletter to you; or you may mail a SASE to the school address and it will be mailed to you. A third option for obtaining your newsletter is to download it from the TCS web site at http://www.towerchristian.com/. The newsletter is available to download the day after the meeting. |
| IV. Park Days and Activities (Optional)       We will meet at a local park once a month for a park day as an opportunity for our kids to share some time together. Each park day will have an assembly time and free play time. There may be other special events at a park day if there are volunteers to coordinate them. We will have a park day every month September through May excluding December. Parents are required to attend with their children unless arrangements are made for someone else to be a responsible adult overseer. The school staff will also plan two all family events per year and holiday student parties if there are enough parent volunteers. |

Costs
| I. Home School Legal Defense Association - HSLDA All families with enrolled students between the ages of 6 and 18 must be covered by HSLDA membership. Our school group has qualified under the group enrollment plan. This means that for new and returning members the cost is only $95 per family per year. HSLDA forms may be mailed to you or you may link to the needed forms from the TCS web site. |
| II. Fees A $25 nonrefundable application fee must accompany the application. We will, of course, return your check if the school becomes closed due to the enrollment limit being reached. There is a $230 per family per year base tuition. This is due in total at a personal registration appointment in August. An additional $25 is charged if forms are not completed and turned in at the personal appointment. Fingerprint and background checks will cost approximately $50 - $60 per parent. |
Your Responsibilities
| 1. Attend the mandatory monthly meetings. 2. Pick up the monthly newsletter at the meeting or make arrangements to acquire it. 3. Read the monthly newsletter. 4. Pay your tuition, hopefully on time. 5. Join HSLDA. 6. Turn in forms completed and on time at your personal appointment in August. 7. Record your student's attendance information monthly on school forms. 8. Complete fingerprint/background check process. 9. Pass on Phone Chain Messages - Each year a phone chain system is established to pass school information. Usually once a month. It's important to the functioning of the school that you pass on messages. |

Possibilities
| There are many things we can do as a school. It will all depend on who is willing to assume a leadership role for that particular activity. Here are a few ideas: God's World newspaper, Mom's Retreat, school T-shirt order, field trips, school library, Boy/Girl scouts, Date Night, children's theater plays, fair day, Mom's Christmas Dinner, class holiday parties, graduation ceremony/party and Moms Night Out. | ||
Enrollment Procedure and Limits
| A. Procedures 1. Fill out the application and confidential forms. Send them and a check for $25 ($50 after August 15th) made payable to Tower Christian School to: Tower Christian School Registrar 8753 Chickadee Lane Clovis, CA. 93619 2. Upon notification of acceptance you may download several enrollment forms that must be completed and turned in at your personal registration appointment. 3. Because so many parents participate in co-op classes and activities where they are supervising other families' children, we require that both parents supply the school with fingerprint and background reports. Forms and information regarding this process will be provided. 4. Both parents must attend a New Member personal appointment that will be scheduled for August. 2. In general we will only accept families who live within a 20 mile radius of the Shields/Blackstone area of Fresno.
